Happy Wednesday!  Today couldn’t be a more exciting day for Wahine Beach Volleyball Club! As some of you know, over the past three years I have had the pleasure of coaching and mentoring some of the most amazing young women.  They are the heart and inspiration for the beautiful website I am extremely proud to be launching TODAY!

The young athletes who played that year [...]]]> 3 years ago today, I was stepping out in the sand to begin coaching a group of 15 excited girls in the sport of beach volleyball. Back then we were located on Ponto Beach in Carlsbad CA with only one court, a few volleyballs, and lots of smiles! The young athletes who played that year were new to the sport and had yet to experience all the great things that are part of playing beach volleyball; traveling, meeting tons of new friends, and experiencing what the world has to offer! To give the girls a taste of the beach lifestyle we planned a little road trip to a national tournament in Phoenix AZ. 110 degree weather, great volleyball games, and endless stories later I realized this was something special!

From that small road trip it has expanded into so much more. The past few years have included a California coast road trip, cross-country travels to Chicago for the USAV Junior Beach Nationals, traveling to Gulf Shores AL for the inaugural 2012 College Sand Championships, and a 10 day retreat to Kauai HI for the first ever Girls Making Waves Project event.  

The unique girls of Wahine Beach have come to define what exactly it means to be a part of our family. A Wahine is daring, confident, naturally beautiful, fit and fun. She is healthy and active, loves being outdoors and playing her sport at the beach. She makes it a priority to give back to those close to her and her community.

Its been 3 amazing years since this adventure began and I am thrilled to finally show you what Wahine Beach has been up to! There are many blog posts coming soon but until then enjoy our beautiful new site and blog.

A huge thanks to all the girls who have become a part of the Wahine family over the past few years. You are all such an inspiration to me on a daily basis! Thank you to the incredible photographer Gina Zeidler for capturing the spirit of Wahine and bringing this beautiful site to life through her images! Thank you to all the awesome behind-the-scenes parents who make everything work in the girls lives! And an ENORMOUS thank you to Ross and his staff at Flosites. This site would not be possible without their amazing creativity and web design abilities! I appreciate you all so much for being so patient and understanding with a website newbie like myself! And thank you to MTH and Lara Casey for opening my eyes to a new way of living my life.

I am so grateful for all the love and encouragement I have received from the beginning! It is with immense gratitude that I present to you our new Wahine Beach home! Spread out your beach towel, get your feet sandy, and ENJOY!
